A seminar moderated by Gry Ulfeng, with guests Kate Marsh, Suzie Davies, Mattias Ekholm and Hege Haagenrud.
Kate Marsh is a producer at Metal, UK, for their Metal Culture - Change Makers programme. This programme raises questions about how to create room for disabled performers within the existing structures of the performing arts. The different body is established in contemporary performance art as subject matter but seldom forms the focus of dance and choreography for its aesthetic form. Does the compromised status of the different body in the performing arts lead to an authenticity fetish and documentary trend where dance is nothing more than various bodies?
The talk is followed by a showing of Dancing Personal Stories kl. 18.00-20.00.
